Speak With The Intent To Be Heard Not Seen

Speak With The Intent To Be Heard Not Seen Normalized yelling, screaming and chaos changes the mind, brain, and body in many ways. It can increase stress hormones in the bloodstream, increase body and muscle tension and aggravate anxiety. Children who grow up in homes where yelling was normalized or where the only attention or recognition they received came from a negative experience of "reaction" have an altered sense of self as adults. That’s because the brain wires itself according to the continued exposure of its experiences—we will continue attaching our caregiver's voice to our intimate relationships with others as we grow and respond from a place of unhealed pain if we are not aware. If the only time a child ever got their parents' attention was when they did something "bad" you may notice they do not respond when communication is seemingly healthy. They may drown out the communication as unimportant until the person engages them out of frustration and unknowingly they individual will have a fear-based response which will create temporary action but not consistent change.
