Many wonder: Can you buy a house in the U.S. if you're not a U.S. citizen?
The answer is yes. You can buy U.S. property if you're a permanent resident, non-permanent resident, refugee, asylee, or DACA recipient.
But if you want to get a U.S. mortgage to finance that house, the rules are a little different.
Be prepared to show documentation proving that you're legally allowed to live or work in the States. That could be a green card, work visa, or other government document proving that you'll be living or working in the U.S. for an extended time.
