The Importance of Taking Notes

The Importance of Taking Notes This week’s TPH Tips talks about taking notes!

WHY taking notes is important: Taking notes help imbed what you are learning in your memory. The act of writing helps improve your memory because you not only see or hear whatever it is you are working on, but then you physically have to think about it and organize it mentally to write it down. Taking notes will help you learn more, faster and keep you organized! Oh ya, taking good notes will separate you from the rest! Not only with the results you produce but also just by showing the initiative to do so!

WHAT to do: Get a pen or a pencil, a piece of paper or notebook and start writing!

HOW to put this in practice: Before you sit down to study make sure you have your note taking materials with you. Next as you are going through your material, slow down, find what’s important and actually write it down!! Finally, figure out the best way for you to organize your notes or take notes faster. Do you use underlines, do you use *stars*, how about using short form for common words? The bottom line is find what works for you and TAKE SOME NOTES!
