#GoodNews: India's Climate-Resilient Agriculture

A researcher from Karnataka’s Shivamogga found that traditional varieties of paddy can withstand rain, flood and water-logging. Dr. Ullasa MY said that the varieties of paddy grown some decades ago are more resistant to Malnad’s wet climatic conditions. A student of Agriculture and Horticulture Sciences University, Ullasa preserved and conserved at least four varieties of traditional paddy seeds of the region and germinated them in the campus' paddy fields.
