when it rains || paris vlog #15

It's been a rainy few weeks in Paris. One morning I woke up and painted this new window in my bedroom so that everyday I could look out and see blue skies. I can't control the weather, but I can control my perspective on reality.
They say that most people are conditioned to let the outside world control how they feel inside. But I think we can change our lives by finding little ways to find magic even in the dark days. Winter has always been a challenge for me as I tend to retreat with in myself even more than usual. Even when the weather is nice, I can spend days inside reading or painting--just being alone. I wanted to use the painted window as a metaphor for the tension I feel between the intimate dream world where I feel most happy and the real world in which we all exist. The perfect weather is an illusion I've created for myself--but if it brings me joy and comfort, is it really less real?
