Polar bear cubs play around on ice in Russia

Bear cubs descend on thin ice near the village of Ryrkaipiy in Russia’s Chukotka. This November footage shows how animals play about on thin ice: they swim, dive into the water and ride on their stomachs.

The number of polar bears in the area increased dramatically in early December. More than 50 bears came to the village in search of food.
