How sustainable urban transport helps creating liveable cities – ADB Urban Transport Forum

How sustainable urban transport helps creating liveable cities – ADB Urban Transport Forum “We have to understand the needs of the people and our partners to develop sustainable mobility solutions for all” says Stephanie Pons, Advisor for the Tranformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI) in the 19th ADB Urban Transport for Livable Cities Forum from 30th September to 4th October 2019 in Manila, Philippines. All hot topics of current and future mobility are summarized in the video and you can get an impression of how the 5 days were.

The forum showed innovative and practical solutions being developed and implemented in various Asian cities and the multiple support mechanisms available from financiers - all indicate the future is moving in the right direction: towards sustainable transport systems that enable livable cities. Cities that rank high on various worldwide indexes mostly have holistic and inclusive user-friendly transport systems that provide wide coverage at affordable levels. It is not financing capacity or resources alone that make the difference. Considering transport as a service, and ensuring inclusive, affordable solutions all contribute to citizens having a positive view on urban transport.
