Man’s Security Camera Footage Reveals 3 Kids Returning Wallet Filled With $700

“Honesty is the best policy” – that’s a lesson that three sweet children learned and implemented when they found a stranger’s missing wallet filled with $700 in cash and returned it to its rightful owner. Needless to say, their folks must be proud! Colorado homeowner, Jamie Carlton sure is!

Every day Carlton checks his security camera’s surveillance footage, but he was shocked to see what unfolded right his doorstep earlier that day. It was kindness and honesty in action, acts we don’t often see too often. This was indeed so refreshing for Carlton to witness.

Three children on bikes arrived at his house and came up to his doorstep and rang the bell. That’s when Carlton’s security system’s automatic voice said, “Hi, we can’t answer the door right now, but the camera is recording. So please just leave us a message. Thanks for coming by.”

The young boy responded: “We found your wallet outside of your car, and we just thought we would give it back to you so… I’m going to put it over here so no one takes any money.” As mentioned, the wallet was chock full of $700 in cash, an amount that would be huge for any kid. The wallet belonged to Carlton’s son, Nigel whose wallet fell out of his pocket after work. Carlton posted the security footage to Facebook, hoping to identify these “hometown heroes” and the clip went viral. Way to go kids!
