WDP4s at Front & Back | Tumkur Pass Push-Pull Type Arrangement

WDP4s at Front & Back | Tumkur Pass Push-Pull Type Arrangement In June 2019, SWR experimented with a new arrangement for the Tumkur Passenger (Possibly due to shortage of one rake - usually the Mysore-Bangalore Passenger becomes the Bangalore-Tumkur Passenger owing to rake sharing arrangement).

The Arsikere-Bangalore Passenger would have a WDP4 attached to its rear upon reaching Bangalore and would then run one trip as the Bangalore-Tumkur-Bangalore Passenger, with hauling duties done only by the lead loco. The trailing loco on each trip would just be set to idle. This helps avoid reversal and saves time. I'm not sure if the arrangement is still followed but it would be nice if it did.

I captured both the up and down trips of the train, with a nice unexpected crossing with the Talguppa-Bangalore ICE in between.

Feel free to like and do let me know what you think about this kind of arrangements in the comment section below. Please consider subscribing for more quality content. :) Cheers!
