How do we recognize faces?

We can recognize a face out of millions of others and, as Rob shows, much of the secret lies in the eyes, providing the basis for an astonishing and slightly disturbing illusion. Sometimes known as the "Thatcher effect", this illusion is even more effective when you include the mouth as well.
