A Masterclass in Silencing and Subordinating Women in the Face of Ecclesiastical Abuse.

A Masterclass in Silencing and Subordinating Women in the Face of Ecclesiastical Abuse. In this discussion with Deseret Books CEO Sheri Dew, the Presidents of the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary of the LDS Church all give their own answers to a question asked by a member about what women should do when dealing with Priesthood leaders who are dismissive and disrespectful to them in their callings.

Answers include:

1. Never Criticize.
2. Ask yourself what you might be doing wrong.
3. Sustain your leaders.
4. Be Patient. They probably know more than you.
5. Pray for them.
6. Remember that women can be bossy and shrill.
7. Never criticize.

At no point do these Presidents of these key women's organizations of the church empower women to trust their own voice, stand up to leaders, vocalize their disagreements, or demand equal respect.

What do you think?
