Many people on social media have been speculating — some even urging — that Iran, instead of pursuing what would be a very one-sided war with the United States that would undoubtedly result in the deaths of hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Iranians, would or should go after Donald Trump’s personal financial interests. After all, it’s not unfair to say that there had been at the very least an absence of current conflict between Iran and the US until Donald Trump was elected, and that it was Trump’s personal hatred of Barack Obama that caused him to tear up the nuclear deal Obama and Iranian President Hassan Rouhani had agreed to before our 44th President left office.
It only makes sense that if Iran is going to wage an “asymmetrical war” with America, it would do so against the “devil” that changed the status quo.
