Isabella took a deep breath. "I'll try." Again, blue skeins appeared around the ends of Sophia's long hair, lifting up lock after lock and twirling it in the air, regrowing each one little by little until they all matched, full, healthy, even and fluffy looking. It felt heavenly to Sophia, and both women giggled as Isabella playfully twirled and tossed each lock after coaxing length back onto it. Upon finishing the last one, Isabella gasped sharply again, suddenly panting as though she'd been holding her breath the whole time. She braced herself on one hand, the other clutching her head. "Gah!" she finally said. "That took a lot out of me. But at least you look better than you did. Anywhere else and they'd have cut your hair back to match the shortest piece. I did the opposite, and I think I got you a few extra inches overall. But it's hard given how thick your hair is."

Sophia inspected the ends as Isabella panted. "Wow! This is incredible. But can you please grow it back a little more, just a little? I have so much length to regain!"

Isabella shook her head sadly. "Not today, sweetie. It kills me that I can't help you more, but my own magic wasn't meant for this. There were only two people I knew who could really help the way you want. One lost her powers tragically. The other can no longer get the ingredients she'd need to make her tonic. So you're stuck with me. We'll get you there. Just... give me time. Come back in a week, ok? I should be recovered enough by then to give you another treatment."

Sophia nodded solemnly. "Thank you, Isabella. You are a kind soul to help me like this. I cannot wait to return next week." She stood, bowed gracefully and left looking a little more hopeful than she did coming in.

Isabella stood and looked at herself in the mirror. There were a few more gray streaks in her hair now. She sighed. "Yeah. I can't wait either."
