Depending on requirements, producers can choose from two configurations and a variety of index pitch models. The Standard IM configuration, which is available in 6", 7", 8” and 9" index pitch models, has a mechanical performance rate of up to 120 cycles per minute and produces pouch sizes from 2" wide x 2" height to 7.75" wide x 9.5" height. The IM Focus, which is capable of the same pouch sizes, is available in 7” and 9” index pitch models. This has a mechanical performance rate of up to 100 cycles per minute and has been designed specifically for the needs of single-serve markets. Examples of its use are for dry food products, pharmaceutical products, liquid sachets and non-woven wipes.
Both Standard IM and IM Focus configurations produce three- or four-sided seal pouches. Additionally, the Standard IM Poucher produces gusseted, Delta-Pac, Doyen-style stand-up and membrane pouches, with or without resealable press-to-close. This standard configuration can be operated in simplex (one pouch per machine cycle) or duplex (two pouches per machine cycle) modes, in right hand and left hand configurations.
Well over 4000 of these machines are used today worldwide. Features such as servo main drive and a touch screen operator panel add to efficiency and ease of operation, and it can run smaller side seals, saving on material. This makes the KHS Innopouch Bartelt® IM - Horizontal Form, Fill and Seal Pouching machine a sustainable choice now and for many years to come.
