The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is taking steps to ensure all UAE employees and dependents possess valid health insurance coverage. Therefore, the DHA has announced a fine will be incurred by any company owner or sponsor who fails to renew health insurance in Dubai every year.

The Dubai Health Insurance Law came into effect in 2014 and ensures that all employees and dependents are entitled to an insurance package.

As per this mandatory Health Insurance law, the amount of this fine will be AED 500 per person, per month. The fine amount will be calculated automatically and incurred at the time of insurance renewal via an electronic system. The Health Authority has urged business owners and sponsors to ensure yearly insurance renewals are done on a timely basis to avoid incurring these fines.

It has been reported that more than 4 million residents are covered by this health insurance initiative.

GDRFA has started checking the insurance copies uploaded for the visa stamping and they are rejecting visas if, the insurance policy is not valid. Hence, kindly scan only the Original/Genuine Orient Medical insurance policy for the emigration purpose.

Don’t scan any other certificates as GDRFA will validate and check.
