What are the implications of denying free will?
There are some strong arguments for determinism and against free will. Ok, we accept them. Where does the deterministic worldview lead us?
In this animated educational video, I bring up several perspectives on this topic. Firstly, there are arguments from intellectuals like Sam Harris, from whose point of view we should adopt the deterministic vision and use it in our everyday activities. On the other hand, you have philosophers like Daniel Dennett who, while agreeing that determinism may be a true doctrine, advocate that free will is a useful social construct, which we shouldn’t abandon too soon.
