Beth Haggard is a 14 year veteran on Indiana Task Force 1 (INTF-1), Indiana’s Federal Urban Search and Rescue Team. The team deploys to both natural and man-made disasters. Beth has been on many deployments throughout the years, such as major hurricanes Gustav and Ike, and most recently to Florence and Category 5 Hurricane Michael in 2018. She is also a career firefighter/paramedic, with over 30 years in the fire service. In this interview, Beth discusses some lessons learned from her time in the fire service, her time on INTF-1, and lessons that she has learned on her road to the task force.
