Most people actually know Adebayo Akinfenwa through the FIFA video game series, as opposed to his exploits in real football.

Nicknamed 'The Beast', Akinfenwa has a heavy build and he's had the honour of being the strongest player in FIFA for several years now - and FIFA 20 is no different.

In the latest instalment of EA Sports' FIFA series, Akinfenwa has a gigantic strength rating of 97, and he showcased some of that power on Saturday afternoon during a League One match.

The 37-year-old has been plying his trade in the Football League for years and he started for table-topping Wycombe Wanderers as they travelled to mid-table Oxford United.

However, things didn't go to plan for English football's strongest footballer because he received a second yellow card for striking an opposition player in the face.

Wycombe went into the game at the Kassam Stadium eight points clear at the top of League One but fell behind to a James Henry goal in the 23rd-minute.

Then, three minutes later, Akinfenwa (who'd already been booked for a foul) produced a moment of madness after an initial argument had broken out between the two sets of players.

The physical centre-forward seemed to be staying out of the altercation, but when John Mounsinho gave him a shove, he instantly retaliated.

With the referee right in front of him, Akinfenwa appeared to grab the opponent around the throat and neck and used enough force to result in the Oxford Utd captain crumbling to the ground.

So, 'The Beast' picked up two yellow cards within the space of six minutes and, having left Mousinho on the floor, received his marching orders from the referee.

Akinfenwa's Wycombe went on to lose the match 1-0 but they still have a healthy six-point lead over second-placed Shrewsbury Town, having played a game less.

FIFA doesn't always get stats right, however It certainly seems like the English battering ram is one of, if not, the strongest footballer around today.
