Coombe Dean Secondary School in Plymouth are working hard to fight loneliness this Christmas. They’ve been inviting elderly members of their community to join pupils for school dinners for 25 years, and no one appreciates their hospitality more than 86-year-old Cyril Aggett. Since losing his wife Shirley six years ago, his regular lunches at the school have helped combat his crippling loneliness. Cyril joins us live from the school canteen this morning, alongside headteacher Richard Woodland, to tell us how school dinners have helped him regain his love for life.
