I've done many videos on the topic and notion of toxic relationships and unhealthy relationships because I believe that it is essential for people to be able to identify signs that they are in unhealthy relationships and then to take action, to be able to take what you've learned and actually have tools and techniques to be able to either right a wrong relationship or to get out of a toxic unhealthy relationship that is basically stealing your peace of mind and your sanity.
And that's what this video is all about. This video is about how to escape toxic love.
And the reality is if you are asking yourself this question it means that something is wrong. It means that your relationship is probably doomed, it means that the person that you're with is not the right person for you, and you've identified the clear signs that you need to get out. Remember that it only takes one partner to make the relationship toxic. It takes both parties to build a happy healthy relationship, but it only takes one person to make the relationship toxic. And oftentimes it can also be you. So its it's very important for you to have perspective and to be honest with yourself as well in this process.
If you're truly interested in breaking out of a toxic relationship you need to stop threatening divorce separation or breakup. Whether it's you or your partner that's constantly threatening to leave, that dynamic needs to end and you need to actually take the necessary steps for you to be mentally emotionally and physically prepared to leave the toxic relationship. It means planning, it means actually having a plan. How are you going to provide for yourself financially and emotionally? Do you have friends and family that you can lean on during this transition period? It's very important for you to have all your ducks in a row in order to feel comfortable and confident to take on this mighty task.
If your partner is constantly making you feel worse about yourself, you need to find outlets to start to feel good again. You need to surround yourself with people that will empower you, that will help you regain self-confidence and self-esteem so that you will have the necessary tools and the right mindset in place to be able to escape that toxic love. Ultimately we're talking about regaining confidence and surrounding yourself with positive people. Ask yourself what is it about your relationship that doesn't feel right. Really pinpoint the issues and from there you will be able to make sure that you protect yourself from these different aspects of your relationship that are doing the most harm. It means setting healthy boundaries. It means being smart enough to not put yourself in a position where you will let this other person continue to hurt you.
And sometimes it takes having support because it goes beyond having the mental capacity or emotional intelligence to cope. Sometimes we need help, we need someone with perspective that cares about us and that is subtle and tactful about their approach to guide us. It's important to gain perspective, to have honesty and to be surrounded by people that you trust.
