This summer Texas music artist Cody Wayne released his most personal song “Remember The Lost Ones” off his new album “Bad Influence.” By far one of the hardest songs he has ever written, not to mention sing, “Remember The Lost Ones” is a direct transport back to Cody’s time served in Iraq as a U.S. Marine and was musically orchestrated to pay homage to those who serve. Stripped of big production theatrics, the music is an auditory diary entry illustrating a day in the life of an active service member. On Veteran’s Day, Cody will pay tribute to his veteran brothers in arms with the release of his deeply touching video for the song. Watching the video it is clear that Cody is still intensely connected to his experience in the service and his profound respect for our troops is palpable from start to finish. Marine Corps Times will exclusively premier the video along with the story behind both Cody’s military and music careers on Monday, November 11 th . It was a surreal experience. The song was playing and I was holding a picture of myself in uniform and I was immediately transported back to my time in the service. All of the sudden, with my eyes focused on my reflection, it all hit me. I saw it all again, I smelled it. I could hear the drill sergeant yelling, I could hear the Humvee, hear the radio going off, could smell the air in Iraq. This rush of emotion just came over me. It is very gratifying knowing that this will help bring recognition and appreciation to veterans and service members. ” In addition to the slew of charitable organizations Cody continues to serve, this year he also became a proud official advocate for The Boot Campaign, a non-profit organization based in Texas that provides life-improving programs for veterans and military families nationwide.100% of the proceeds from the sale of “Remember The Lost Ones” will directly benefit this outstanding organization.
