Why was blue chosen to be the colour of the Indian railway trains? IR till 1996 had Reddish colour on all trains. Later when the brakes were changed to vacuum brakes they changed the colour for identification.Now all ordinary trains have blue colour. Only rajadhani,Shatabdi,jan-shatabdi,garib rath,duronto and Yuva expresses have a different colour. #wowodia
