50 HDT taxis equipped with AEDs, drivers given training

50 HDT taxis equipped with AEDs, drivers given training Taxi operator HDT has equipped 50 of its taxis with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs), along with drivers trained to use them. It is part of a nationwide effort to increase public access to AEDs. It allows the driver to respond to a cardiac arrest within a 1.5-kilometre radius, when he or she gets an alert on the SCDF's myResponder App. The initiative between HDT and the Singapore Heart Foundation is the second AED on Wheels programme. The first was launched in 2015 with SMRT, which has 100 taxis with AEDs, and drivers have responded to nearly 150 cardiac arrest cases.
