I get asked this multiple times a week... "Will the Pivot Protocol help me with hiatal hernia?"
What is hiatal hernia and why is it so common in people with acid reflux?
Hiatal hernia happens when the valve between your esophagus (food tube) and the top of your stomach gets fatigued and no longer closes.
This allows acid, bile and undigested food to rise back up - giving you the symptom of acid in your mouth and back of your throat.
But why does it happen? What is the real cause of hiatal hernia?
It is not your age…
Most people really have nothing wrong with this valve - which is called your lower esophageal sphincter. And the surprising reason it gets weak and allows acid, bile and food to reflux upward…
Is overwhelmingly caused by simple food stagnation.
When food is stuck in your small and large intestines (i.e. below your stomach)...
Your stomach has no room to operate - and it cannot keep pushing more and more food down.
Plus, all the stagnant food below your stomach is causing all kinds of heat in your body.
Bacteria is growing in your intestines because the food is rotting… that bacteria can inflame your intestines (and cause lots of smelly gas, bloating and mucous)...
And that can easily lead to your immune system going ballistic. That’s the start of autoimmune illness…
And this is the most common reason why people with hiatal hernia and acid reflux are trapped in a negative feedback loop…
The heat in your intestines (caused by food stagnation) is also causing MORE heat in your overheated liver.
And when you have constant heat in your liver…
You feel forced to eat more food - and more often.
That’s the downward spiral that leads to hiatal hernia and reflux. There’s too much food and waste inside you and it’s not moving.
You can get hooked to laxatives - and they are dangerous because they greatly dry out your body... and so I don’t recommend them unless you have an actual emergency...
Laxatives get rid of food stagnation temporarily - but that is pure short-term thinking - just like acid blockers.
My Pivot Protocol is the exact opposite of short-term thinking.
It’s a system of behaviors and habits you can implement to be rid of hiatal hernia, acid reflux and most other digestive illnesses - permanently.
But you need to go here to learn the basics.
