Paper abstract:
This paper proposes a voltage-source parallel resonant Class DE inverter with shunt capacitor. The proposed inverter achieves both zero voltage switching (ZVS) and zero voltage derivative switching (ZVDS) conditions. Thus, the proposed circuit archives high power conversion efficiency under high operating frequency. The proposed circuit has shunt capacitors in parallel to the switching devices, which reduce the influence of parasitic capacitance with the switching devices. The property of achieving ZVS as the resistance value increases is suitable for the application such as the battery charge. Also, the voltage stress on switching devices is limited to the input voltage. This paper shows the theoretical equations, design equations, simulation waveforms, and experimental results. A theoretical waveform, simulation, and circuit experiments were matched well. Measured power conversion efficiency was 92.4 % at the switching frequency 1.00 MHz and the output power 1.59 W.
