The worldwide of highest amount of steps in the final chase until 2017 was 28. In the original UK version of the show, the Beast (in Series 2) and the Sinnerman (in Series 5) faced that amount of steps, but both of them scored 27. Then, in the Australian version of the show, there was Brydon Coverdale (in Season 1) who initially faced 27, but later was pushed backed his starting position (which was first time that's ever happened in the Australian version) to 28. He scored 21. Then, Anne Hegerty (in Season 2) faced 28 steps on the full 2 minutes and 21 seconds more than Brydon did. She scored 23. But now, in this version, the record has been broken and the steps has finally reached to it's 30s.
