A deaf woman from California says a Jack in the Box worker discriminated against her after she was unable to hear what the employee was saying at a drive-thru speaker. 39-year-old ReVae Arnaud-Jensen ended up sharing cellphone footage of the disturbing incident that happened on Sunday near San Jose. The video shows Arnaud-Jensen pulling up to the drive-thru window after bypassing the intercom where drivers usually place their orders. A Jack in the Box worker in San Jose, California refused to serve a deaf woman and even mocked her sign language ReVae Arnaud-Jensen, 38, who usually communicates through lip reading and sign language posted the shocking interaction onlineShe attempted to explain to the order-taker that she was hard of hearing and needed to place her order at the window in-person.But Arnaud-Jensen's protestations fell on deaf ears as the worker decided not to listen to her needs nor cater for her hearing disability.Instead, the fast-food worker ordered her to move along and leave the drive-thru completely.Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the worker, the entire interaction was being recorded by the woman's son who was sitting in the passenger seat. 'Can you move, please? Can you move? Move, please!' the drive-thru employee orders her as he continues to shout and gesticulate. 'I say, "Can I help you? Can I help you?" You, nothing.'The man continues to insult Arnaud-Jensen while telling her to move her car. 'I am deaf,' she responds. 'You're discriminating against me … I can't hear you on the speaker.'Arnaud-Jensen, who was born deaf but can speak and can respond to people by reading lips and using sign language, proceeds to tell him that she is prepared to wait while she gets the order she originally came for.
