Orthorexia Nervosa is a new eating disorder classification. It involves only eating pure "healthy" foods, and avoiding all toxins in our diet. This can lead to severe limitations of foods, anxiety, and social isolation. It can cause us to not eat a "balanced" diet. We may avoid foods that are perceived unhealthy. It could lead to us not going out into the world because it is unhealthy.
In this video I discuss my own tendencies and if I have become Orthorexic on my health journey. Is being healthy, keto, carnivore or Intermittent Fasting the road to Orthorexia? Or is there a reasonable middle ground to stand on that reduces our exposure to certain toxins in our life, while not eliminating them entirely from our diet. Do I obsess about the foods I am eating and what I allow into my life? Today we answer those questions.
