A True Alternative to Creality and Prusa? - Sidewinder X1 Review & Upgrade

A True Alternative to Creality and Prusa? - Sidewinder X1 Review & Upgrade The Chinese 3D printer company Artillery3D seems to be trying to make a name for itself based on quality. They are off to a good start with this printer (the Sidewinder X1) which got so many things right. There is one exception that needs to be addressed before this machine is making the best prints possible: It has a Volcano style hotend on it. Let's fix that.

EDIT: I've been informed by the manufacturer that it was my error with the SD card. I simply had to select either SD or USB in the menu on the touch screen to switch between reading either storage type. I tested and it works perfectly.

Jan emailed me to say "I got an idea
what about taking something like this " and make M7 thread to it...?" He has a good idea, but, I don't think there is enough length on that shaft for any more threads than I already have on the current heat break part. Also cutting threads onto a Titanium shaft without a lathe would be incredibly difficult.

Rob Says: "The product page on their website ( points to an AlliedExpress page ( that has a picture of the driver board ( with AT2100 written on it and that finally led me to this page ( So, it's appears to be a TMC2100 clone as you thought. Nice call."
