Treasures from Trash: Malaysian recycling startup helps consumers dispose e-waste easily The world produces approximately 50 million tons of electronic waste each year. Half of them come from personal consumer electronics, such as smartphone and laptops. If buried in the landfill, the e-waste could contaminate water and earth with the hazard lasting hundreds of years.
