Some Examples of How I Use the Weekender Pocket Journal

Some Examples of How I Use the Weekender Pocket Journal So keeping in mind i am not an artist, but thought I’d share some examples of how i use the weekender pocket journal.
The first rule to pocket journaling is that; there are no rules!
* Deliberate practice, the booklet is small so i can spend time focusing on one thing. For example drawing trees, or shading, or color pencil techniques, or whatever strikes your fancy.
* The accordion style i found lends itself to recording interesting things along a trail if i am focused on walking i just photograph things of interest and move on, or it may not be good “real nature journal technique” but simply trying to observe what is interesting in the moment then sketch it later from memory. (Just a warning for this memory technique sometimes the turtle you remember comes out looking more like a rock. But that is where a little note and label is pretty helpful.)
* Hike with the dog
* Record an event for example company visit for a holiday
* Notes and thoughts at a workshop. Sketch notes is a style of note taking that may be helpful in remembering information, it just takes a couple of minutes to make one so i may bring a couple of spares along, i can always bind them together later. Our use the pockets to hold extra ideas or data.
