With Prius sales slipping slowly in America, Toyota finally decided to do what shoppers in the norther states has been asking for some time: bring the Japanese market e-AWD Prius to America. Why had Toyota resisted for so long? Because on paper a Prius with a 7 horsepower rear axle sounds about as exciting as, well, a front-wheel-drive Prius. What I hadn't expected however was for the electric AWD system to make as much sense as it does. If you're looking for high efficiency and shockingly good traction, there's now a Prius for that.
