Don't Let Fear Triumph Over Love

Don't Let Fear Triumph Over Love Can we do more for the 70 million people who no longer have a home to return to?

I created this video to raise more awareness for World Refugee Day.
What a lot of people don’t realize (and that the news rarely mentions) is that some 70 million people in the world are now displaced. May it be through war. Terrorism. Natural disasters. These are people who sadly no longer have a home to return to without risking their lives.
And when you understand the statistics behind refugees, it’s jaw-dropping.

For example, 1 in 4 refugee children have no access to schools. And the average refugee will stay on a camp for 17 years. Have you ever wondered: why do we not do more for them?
Partially, it’s because of fear. There’s this lie that is often propagated by fear mongers that can lead us to believe that refugees bring dangerous ideas and dilute the culture of their host countries.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

Many of Europe’s far-right parties and men like Trump, know that vilifying and creating false stories about refugees are effective ways to win voters who may be kind and compassionate BUT may not know the full story of who these people really are. They also know that refugees don’t have the means or the platform to speak up for themselves.

This is why it’s important to speak up for those who can’t.
One of the ways Mindvalley is doing this is by sponsoring teenagers who have been living in Syrian refugee camps to join Mindvalley University so they can be part of our program.

So, if you’re someone who believes in supporting refugees and want to join the cause, or you want to learn more about what we stand to lose if we don’t, I recommend checking out The International Rescue Committee here: www.rescue.org

It’s an organization that responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover and gain control of their future. And their efforts have assisted and empowered millions of displaced people worldwide.
