#Rudraksh is a compound word consisting of #Rudra and #Aksa. Rudra is one of the #Lord Shiva’s #vedic names and #Aksa means tear #drops. Thus, Rudraksh means Lord Shiva’s tear drops. Rudraksh could also mean eye of Lord Shiva. Rudraksh are available in white, #red, #brown, #yellow and #black. Rudraksh beads are found with a variety of mukhi ranging from 1 to 21.
On the other #hand, #fabric #manipulation is a #technique that reshape a fabric or #textile surface. Some of the methods are very old but #contemporary fabric artists continue to use them and adapt them in new ways. Fabric manipulation makes the fabric more 3D like or flat.
During #Mahashivaratri, we saw Rudraksh being used as a prayer bead for Lord Shiva and got curious about its composition, significance and usages. We researched about Rudraksh beads in detail and were amazed by whatever little we came to know about it.
We have created textures using Rudraksh and fabric #manipulation techniques (mostly pleating) in our #collection. We have used mint #green, #shades of #yellow and #cream as our colour palette.
