DUTERTE - Jordan is likely to give more AH-1 Cobra helicopters to the Philippines

President Duterte revealed that Jordan would likely provide the third attack helicopter for the country but he was reluctant to use such aircraft for the operation of the anti-communist insurgency.

"They gave us two [helicopters]. I made friends with the King of Jordan. He said he might give us a third," the president said in the Visayan dialect during the administrative campaign in Bukidnon.

The president met King Abdullah II of Jordan to strengthen bilateral relations during his visit to Amman in September 2018. During the meeting Jordan agreed to bring AH-1 Cobra helicopters to the Philippines.

The donation of two Bell AH-1 Cobra attack helicopters to improve Philippine military capabilities was handled during the President's meeting with the King. The two helicopters are expected to be sent this July.

"They showed me the helicopter they donated." "It was shown at an exhibition there," he said.
